A First Look

On a clear moonlit night, the little bat Echo slipped out of his warm rock crevice. His ears wiggled with curiosity, for deep in the cave a wind rustled that sounded like a whispered "Come with me!" Echo loved such nights. He loved questions. And today he wanted to find answers.

The Encounter

"Perhaps some want to come to help," said Nebra gently. "What are you guarding?" Drogo's glance hurried to the rock wall. Behind it, a small spring gurgled, and in its clear water tiny eggs shimmered. "The water must stay warm," murmured Drogo. "My breath keeps the spring alive." Echo nodded. "That's important. But we are also important. We want to be friends – and friends ask before they disturb."

The Celebration

...and celebrated the whole night, even more animal companions joined them. The cave filled with laughter and stories, and the stars shone brighter than ever before. It was a night they would all remember – the night strangers became friends.
